If Whiskers are hungry, check both the food you produce and the food they can reach. Secure raw food first, then add cooking and a stocked place to eat.
Based on the sources below. Planning suggestions are editorial guidance; this is not a claim of hands-on testing on the latest build.
Follow one meal from source to Whisker
A colony total can hide a local shortage. Inspect a hungry Whisker's route and the food supply near home. Then look upstream at gathering and processing. Keep these checks separate so you do not add production to solve a delivery problem.
- No food in storage: inspect gathering and staffing.
- Ingredients available but no cooked meals: inspect the kitchen's inputs.
- Meals stored elsewhere but dining stock empty: inspect delivery.
Stabilize raw food before upgrading recipes
Foraging, fishing and farming provide different starting points. Crops take time to establish, so a new field is not an immediate answer to an empty pantry. Fishing also has a staffing requirement, covered in the fishing guide. Keep the working supply running while you establish the replacement.
Improve the meal and the place it is served
Cooking can turn ingredients into more and better meals. Food quality and dining quality are separate needs: a better eating venue does not improve the meal itself. Check the daily thoughts report to see which part of the experience is disappointing your colony.
- Upgrade to a recipe whose entire input chain you can support.
- Make sure prepared meals reach the place Whiskers eat.
- Check food reserves again after recruitment or industrial expansion.
Use a short recovery loop
Our suggested response is to fix the first broken link, then observe the next meal period before changing everything else. If stock recovers but hunger persists, concentrate on distribution. If the pantry keeps shrinking, reassess consumption and production. Avoid assuming one food building supports a fixed population on every difficulty.
